If you are someone who is taking gender-affirming hormone Therapy (GAHT) or you are close to someone who is taking GAHT, there are different resources available where you can find information and support. 

Group Meetings 

  • Transvisie hold a range of group support meetings for trans people like the Mennengroep, Vrouwengroup, TransAnders and Transgender en geloof. There is also a group for partners, parents and children of transgender people called (H)erkenning. You can find agendas for the various group meetings.   
  • T-Huis in Amsterdam hold a range of opportunities and events for transgender people to meet others in the community. Cafe clinics are every 3rd Sunday of the month which are open to all members of the community between 11-19h 

Support 

If you are facing challenges related your psychological and/ or social health, for example feelings of loneliness and isolation, then you can reach out to the social work team at the Trans United clinic by emailing socialwork@transunitedeurope.eu. They can help you to find support for a variety of problems. 

The Steunpunt gendervagen based at the Amsterdam UMC offers support for trans people and their loved ones. At the support centre, you can ask questions about: gender, the care offered, contact options, practical recources, coming out and assistance in your own region. This service has an independent role and offers confidential and netral information and support from an experienced professional.
