He is a social psychologist by training and has published mainly in the areas of mental health, social health, stigma and discrimination amongst sexual and gender minority groups. Related to the Affirm project, David is motivated to do research which helps to better understand and uncover the complex interplay of social experiences, relationships, identities, and biological factors that influence health.

Her research focuses on the link between close relationships and health, and in particular on how people experience and manage difficult emotions in their romantic relationships. In March 2020, she launched an international research study called "Love in the Time of Covid" to study how people connect, relate and cope during difficult times.

is a neuroscientist and a Postdoctoral Researcher in the AFFIRMRelationships team. From 2019 to 2023, she conducted research on the effects of sex hormone use on sleep and mood for her PhD, and she currently focuses on studying the effects of sex hormones on mood and emotions. Before her PhD, Margot also volunteered as youth advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and LGBTQI+ health at CHOICE for Youth
